Number of Americans Using Broadband Declining

More Americans are online these days but some are shunning costly broadband.

    FOX’s Dave Anthony reports:

Remember doing this: To get online… Connecting that modem…

Well those days are gone for most of us as technology keeps improving. Four in five Americans now have internet access at home.

The 80% in a new Pew Research survey out Monday is up from 78 two years ago… Many who don’t have it are older and aren’t interested.

The number using broadband has dropped from 70 to 67%… Part of the reason? The cost is too high they say…

Others say it’s too expensive to get a computer… And there’s another factor now, smartphones… The number of people who use them as their only internet access is up to 13%.
