Janis Joplin's custom painted Porsche drives away with a world record at an auction.
FOX's Michelle Pollino reports:
The custom painted 1964 Porsche 356 C that was owned by Janis Joplin sold for $1.76 million at an RM Sotheby's auction, doubling what was expected, making a world record for the 356 C Model at auction.
Joplin had the Porsche painted, from bumper to bumper in a mural: filled with landscapes, birds, butterflies, floating eyes, mushrooms and skull-like faces.
The car included a portrait of herself with her band at the time - Big Brother and the Holding Company.
