Philadelphia Police Increase Security Near Mosques After Discovering Pig’s Head
Philadelphia police are increasing security after a disturbing find outside a mosque.
FOX’s Gurnal Scott reports:
Philadelphia police say they don’t yet know who left a severed pig’s head near the Al Aqsa Islamic Society building.
Commissioner Charles Ramsey says investigators are going over surveillance video that shows someone tossing the animal head out of a pick-up truck. So far no suspects have been identified.
The action — which has been seen in other countries — is considered a means of taunting and showing anti-Muslim sentiment. Tenets of Islam do not allow Muslims to eat pork.
The city is offering a $2,000 reward for information that could help in prosecuting hate crimes.
