Life Expectancy Remains Flat
There’s good news and bad news, according to new numbers showing the average life span in the U.S.
FOX’s Tom Graham explains:
The good news, on average, we aren’t dying any younger. The bad news, we’re not getting any older on the whole either.
New government numbers show the average American born last year can expect to live to about 78 years and 9 and a half months. That’s about the same as 2012 and 2013 numbers.
In most years since World War II, life expectancy in the U.S has increased little-by-little. It’s unclear why it’s been flat for three years.
The U.S. ranks below nearly 40 other countries in life expectancy with Japan, Switzerland and Iceland having the longest lives on average.
