The FBI says it is investigating the murders as a 'terrorist act' in the San Bernardino shootings...

FOX News' Jeff Monosso is live in California:

The FBI confirms what many residents here and people across the country already assumed...

(Bowdich) "Based on the information and the facts as we know them, we are now investigating these horrific acts as an act of terrorism."

The FBI's David Bowdich saying that they continue to piece together more details from cellphones and computer hard drives that Tashfeen Malik and Syed Farook thought they destroyed... Including evidence that Malik pledged allegiance to the terror group ISIS on her Facebook page.

Sources also tell us that Malik may have radicalized her husband, who we're told was in contact with the terrorist group overseas.

The FBI's new designation of this investigation makes this the deadliest attack on U.S. soil since 9/11.

This week's shootings in San Bernardino are now being considered a terrorist attack...

FOX News' Jared Halpern has more on the FBI is saying in Washington:

The husband and wife who opened fire on a San Bernardino county building, killing 14, did show signs of radicalization, FBI director James Comey says...

(Comey) "And of the potential inspiration from foreign terrorist organizations."

Though Comey says so far there's no indication of a wider network or cell and Syed Farook and Tashfeen Malik didn't appear in FBI holdings...

(Comey) "There were no contacts between either of the killers and subjects of our investigations that it was of such significance to raise the killers on our radar screen."

The Muslim couple had been married about two years and were parents to a six month old girl.
