New Security Measures Added to Visa Waiver Program

Amid the ongoing debate over letting Syrian refugees into the U.S., the White House is announcing changes to another visa program…

    FOX News’ Jon Decker explains:

In the wake of the terrorist attacks in Paris, the Department of Homeland Security is announcing what it’s calling significant security measures in its Visa Waiver Program.

The program which permits visa free travel for citizens of 38 countries will now capture information from these travelers regarding any past travel to countries which the U.S. considers a terrorist safe haven.

DHS will also assist all interested countries in screening refugees or asylum seekers, by conducting biometric checks.

DHS says it will identify any countries that are deemed deficient in key areas of cooperation.
