High School Teacher in Utah Assigns Propaganda Poster for ISIS
A high school assignment was a little too over the top for some parents in a Utah school district when a teacher told her 9th graders to draw a propaganda poster for ISIS.
FOX’s Jessica Rosenthal reports:
A ninth grade teacher at Salem Junior High in Utah told her students to come up with a propaganda poster for a terrorist organization…
(Langston) “My initial response was there is no way that you are going to do this assignment.”
Annie Langston’s 14-year-old daughter said she typed in how to recruit for ISIS into Google.
Lana Hiskey with the Nebo School District says the teacher is being retrained and this was not a vetted assignment…
(Hiskey) “She was immediately apologetic, she said honestly I was trying to get students to understand how this is misuse and how it is untruths and that’s what she was trying to teach.”
Langston said it seems like it was an honest mistake and that the woman is still a good teacher for her daughter.
