Obama Threatens Veto On Syrian Refugee Bill

A Presidential veto awaits a Syrian refugee bill.

FOX’s Jon Decker reports from the White House:

The President is promising to veto a bipartisan bill that would improve screening for Syrian refugees — including FBI background checks and sign-offs by top Homeland Security officials.

(Obama) ”My expectation is that after the initial spasm of rhetoric that people will settle down, take a look at the facts, and we’ll be able to proceed.”

House Speaker Paul Ryan said the bill would not subject applicants to a religious test.

The President, meanwhile, is moving forward with plans to bring in an additional 10,000 Syrian refugees over the next year.
