New York Tells FanDuel and DraftKings to Stop Taking Bets

New York’s Attorney General tells two Fantasy Sports sites to stop taking bets in the state.

In a letter to DraftKings and FanDuel, Attorney General Eric Schneiderman says their contests are promoted like lotteries and are games of chance not skill.

He accuses the two companies of leading a massive illegal gambling scheme… Intended to evade the law and fleece sports fans. Schneiderman describing the fantasy sports contests as being neither harmless nor victimless.

In a statement, New York based FanDeul insists its games are legal and Boston based DraftKings threatens to pursue legal options.
