Court Rules Against President Obama’s Immigration Plan
A 26 state challenge to President Obama’s executive order on immigration succeeds in federal court. It is now blocked.
FOX News’ Jon Decker has the reaction from the White House:
Republicans had criticized the President’s plan as an illegal executive overreach when he announced it last November… Now, in 2-1 decision, the 5th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals has upheld a federal judge’s injunction blocking the action.
In reaction, a White House official insisted that the federal government can set priorities in enforcing immigration laws. The administration could now ask for a re-hearing by the full 5th Circuit or file an immediate appeal to the U.S. Supreme Court.
