House Approves Defense Department Budget Authorization Bill
House Republicans and the White House seem to agree on Pentagon spending.
FOX News’ Steve Taylor reports from Washington:
The House approves and is sending the Senate a Defense Department budget authorization bill.
That happened last month, too, but President Obama vetoed that measure because it did not include $5-billion in spending cuts that he wanted.
House Republican leaders decided not to try to override the veto. Instead they have passed the new bill with the spending cuts.
The bill still authorizes $600-billion in defense spending. The Senate is expected to pass the revised bill as soon as next week.
