The longtime home of crooner Johnny Mathis in the Hollywood hills has been extensively damaged in a fire.
Fire officials say a vegetation fire spread to the hillside estate and caused the fire. Mathis was not home at the time, although when he returned he took note of the loss…
(Mathis) “What a mess, my goodness, the house is totaled, absolutely totaled. There’s nothing left. A little sad of course, but lucky.”
The 80-year-old singer lived in this house for more than 50 years. Reports are that the house is a total loss.
