Amazon Opens Physical Bookstore
Maybe the old way isn’t so bad after all. Amazon.com has opened a real live bookstore.
FOX News’ Pat O’Neill has the details:
They’re known for helping to put many bookstores out of business. Now, amazon.com has its own brick-and-mortar retail store… the first in its 20-year history.
It’s in Seattle, Amazon’s home base, and it’s packed with best-sellers and an inventory based on customer ratings and pre-orders.
Amazon is betting its website shopping data will help narrow its focus and avoid stocking titles that gather dust on the shelves, a big problem for other bookstores.
In-store and online prices will be the same. Customers will also be able to try Amazon’s Kindle, Echo, Fire TV and Fire tablet devices.
Amazon isn’t saying whether it plans to open any physical stories in other areas.
