US Warship Sails Close To Chinese Artificial Islands In South China Sea
China expressing indignation after a U.S. warship sailed close to where it’s building artificial islands in the South China Sea. But other nations in the region welcomed the maneuver.

China saying the warship’s challenge threatens Chinese security. A foreign ministry spokesman saying the U.S. risks being a fool by trying to look smart, as China might decide to accelerate boosting its defenses.
The destroyer U.S.S. Lassen sailed close to where China has built artificial islands in what Washington says is international waters. Just a few years ago the islands where reefs that were under water at high tide.
Japan welcomed the maneuver and so did the Philippine President…

Benigno Aquino’s nation fears Beijing’s military expansion close to its borders.
