Ole Miss Students Want State Flag Removed From Campus

Student leaders at the University or Mississippi say the school should remove the state flag from the campus grounds, as it contains a confederate emblem.

FOX News Radio’s Eben Brown reports:

Student senators at Ole Miss, in a two-to-one vote, say the campus should ditch the state’s flag because it still features a Confederate battle emblem. They were celebrating the vote…

(Student) “Rarely are issues of social justice decided by the will of the majority… If Mississippi had its way, slavery probably wouldn’t have ended in 1865.”

It is not binding on the campus, nor the state. Removal of Confederate imagery in state governments in the South has been ongoing in the wake of the shooting deaths inside a historic black church in Charleston, South Carolina.
