The Secret Service will soon provide protection to two Republican presidential candidates.
FOX News Radio’s Jon Decker has more from the White House:
As threats have increased against Dr. Ben Carson and with crowds growing larger for Donald Trump,
FOX News has learned that both men will soon receive Secret Service protection.
Trump has a private security team, but has requested protection from the Secret Service.
It’s rare for the Secret Service to provide protection to a candidate before they officially get their party’s nomination, though Barack Obama starting receiving protection in May of 2007.
Former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton has had Secret Service protection dating back to her days as First Lady.
