Government Developing A Drone Registration Plan

    With sales of small drones soaring, the federal government is working to develop a new safety plan…that includes registration.

    FOX News Radio’s Rachel Sutherland reports from Washington:

    Transportation Secretary Anthony Foxx says registration will help authorities track down drone operators who break rules, like flying near an airport, or in restricted airspace… And Foxx says, registration is best for operators too.

    (Foxx) ”Gives operators the opportunity to learn the airspace rules before they fly and enjoy their devices safely.”

    Foxx says a task force has been created to develop recommendations for a drone registration process.

    Secretary Foxx wants those recommendations by November 20.
