Uber Partners with AMBER Alert to Bring ‘Children Home Safely’

AMBER Alerts, the emergency messages sent out to relay information about suspected abducted children, will now be issued through yet another digital chain.

FOX News Radio’s Eben Brown reports:

Drivers for app-based ride-share service Uber will soon start receiving AMBER Alert information for their geographic areas right on their Uber provided smartphones.

The project is in partnership between Uber and the National Center for Missing & Exploited ChildrenThe system has been undergoing tests in Colorado.

Uber says their network covers three-quarters of the U.S. population and presenting AMBER Alerts to drivers means that emergency information could be used more widely and timely in the case of an abduction.
