A Montana daycare worker is recovering from severe injuries she suffered when she was punched and hit in the face with a shovel.

FOX News Radio's Monica Rix has details:

Police there say the man who attacked Martha McClure is the father of three children she was looking after at the time.

McClure refused to hand them over to Francis Jackson because she says he looked drunk and didn't have legal custody of his kids.

That's when things turned violent... Jackson bashed the woman in the face with a shovel, then took off without the kids. He was later arrested in Washington State.

As for McClure, she's now recovering from injuries after undergoing surgery. She says she still struggles with double-vision, but she's eager to get back to her daycare kids.
