Planning Underway to Honor Martin Luther King Jr. in Georgia’s Stone Mountain
There are plans to expand a controversial landmark in Georgia to honor Martin Luther King Jr.
FOX News Radio’s Dave Anthony reports:
(Martin Luther King Jr.) “Free at last, free at last, thank God almighty we are free at last.”
That maybe the most memorable line from Martin Luther King Jr.’s ‘I Have a Dream Speech’, but another one has inspired something 52 years later…
(Martin Luther King Jr.) “Let freedom ring from Stone Mountain of Georgia.”
Planning is underway to put a replica of the Liberty Bell there. The Stone Mountain Memorial Association says it would add to other displays, which have been controversial…
Like Confederate flags near the mountain base and a giant carving of confederate leaders Jefferson Davis and Generals Robert E. Lee and Stonewall Jackson. Some critics want that sand-blasted away.
