NASCAR Drivers Ready For Round Two Of The Chase At Charlotte
The stakes are higher for everyone as drivers and teams prepare for round two of The Chase.
FOX News Radio’s Kirstin McNary gives you the lowdown in this week’s “Fox in the Fast Lane”:
NASCAR heads to the Tar Heel State for Saturday night racing at Charlotte Motor Speedway as The Chase moves to the Contender Round.
The counter is reset for the remaining 12 drivers, who all start with the same amount of points, as each team eyes being part of the Final Four in Miami.
Penske driver Joey Logano is preparing for more intense racing after a very tight first round
(Logano) “The goal is to get the best finish you possibly can. We’re not throwing hail marys yet, you know, you don’t have to go out there and go for checkers or records at this point.”
Matt Kenseth has been scared straight after six-time champ Jimmie Johnson was eliminated from the Chase last week. The new strategy… run all out over the next two races before Talladega.
(Kenseth) “Worrying about things never makes anything better… it usually just makes it worse. So I think you just take it one race at a time. But certainly with Talladega, the third race in this round, it would be great to get a win in the first two races. If you can’t get that, you want to gather as many points as you possibly can.”
