The House has voted to lift a 40 year old ban on exporting U.S. crude oil, but the law is still unlikely to change.
FOX News Radio's Jared Halpern has more from Capitol Hill:
A ban on sending U.S. crude overseas was established during the Ford Administration, a way to keep supply up during the Middle East oil embargo.
(Barton) "Why are we the only nation in the world that is restricted in one of the blessings that God has endowed our great nation with?"
Texas Republican Joe Barton argues more output isn't about big oil, but blue collar workers... but the White House says President Obama would veto the export ban, arguing the focus should be on new clean energy.
More than two dozen Democrats did support the bill, but that's not enough to override a potential Presidential veto.
