House Democrats try to get rid of the Benghazi Committee.

FOX News Radio's Jared Halpern has more from Capitol Hill:

Republican leaders have spent much of this week defending the work of the Congressional panel investigating the 2012 Benghazi terror attacks.

(McCarthy) "There's only one why reason that committee was created. Period."

Republican leader Kevin McCarthy conceding he was not as clear as he should have been when he linked that committee to Hillary Clinton's falling poll numbers.

Democrats say that gaffe is evidence the committee is purely political and should be disbanded. New York Democrat Louise Slaughter put a resolution doing just that on the floor, it failed on a procedural party-line vote.
