The Race Continues For Denny Hamlin, Despite Knee Injury
The final spots are still up for grabs heading into NASCAR’s final race before the Chase in Richmond.
FOX News Radio’s Rich Denison reports:

Two drivers control their destinies heading into the weekend as Clint Boyer and Aric Almirola hang on to the final two post-season spots, and Almirola hopes his No. 43 Ford team can leapfrog over Boyer in the standings…
(Almirola) “We were on top 15, top 10, and the 15 hits the fence, and… or something happens, or engine failure… anything like that, I mean, we’re right back in it.”
Veteran driver Jeff Gordon appears to have his spot in the Chase all sown up, but the old “rainbow warrior” is still hoping for a top finish in his final run at Richmond.
(Gordon) “That’s where I probably just tried to turned my focus and attention to, is just doing the job that I need to do, and just not try to over think it.”
And, Joe Gibbs Racing is breathing a sigh of relief after a knee injury to star driver Denny Hamlin will not stop him from getting behind the wheel this weekend. Hamlin tore his ACL playing basketball this week and will undergo surgery in the off-season.
