Some North Carolina Students Can Take Gym Class… Online

There’s a lot you can learn online these days – and students in North Carolina can now take another class at home.

FOX News Radio’s Dave Anthony reports:

Gym class can sound a lot like this: Kids bouncing basketballs, running around… But in this digital age, who needs a gym?

North Carolina’s Virtual Public School will, this Fall, offer high school phys ed classes online.

A teacher will give a video demonstration of some sort of physical activity or sport, then tell students to record themselves doing it:

(“Dodgeball) “If you can dodge a wrench, you can dodge a ball.”

…No it won’t be like “Dodgeball”.

(“Rocky”) “I want you to try to chase this little chicken.”

..Or like “Rocky”…

(“Rocky) “What do I got to chase a chicken for, it’s embarrassing, you know?”

Students can use the online gym to catch up on credits or if they are home-bound. It’ll be tested in two North Carolina counties first.
