Cuban Embassy Reopens In Washington
Cuba’s flag is flying high over Washington and some of those cheering may never have seen that before.
FOX News Radio’s Jared Halpern reports from outside the Cuban Embassy:
A Cuban color guard let out the flag, unfurled it, and for the first time since 1961, raised the blue and white striped flag, a red triangle on its left side, centered by a white star.
As the flag was being raised here on the sidewalk outside the Embassy, chants of ‘Cuba Si, Castro No’. A number of Cuban Americans protesting human rights abuses and demanding the release of political prisoners.
Senior U.S. officials are also here, including the men who will lead the U.S. Embassy in Havana, at least until the Senate confirms an Ambassador… that’s a post that could be vacant awhile.
