Starbucks Hiking Prices

Prepare to pay more at Starbucks.

FOX News Radio’s Kerin McCue reports:

They raised prices only about a year ago, but starting Tuesday, coffee lovers will have to dig a little deeper to pay for a cup of Starbucks coffee.

While other coffee sellers are cutting prices due to lower future prices of un-roasted coffee beans, the Seattle-based chain is raising the cost of a cup of joe from 5-20 cents. A large Starbucks will cost you about $2.45.

Starbucks says the price of coffee is only a part of its expenses. Rent, labor, marketing and equipment costs are rising… and so must the cost of their product.

But take heart, in an effort to generate more new customers, Starbucks says the price of its food items will remain unchanged.
