NASCAR this weekend goes to the first of two road courses on the Sprint Cup schedule… Sonoma, a track that Martin Truex Jr. says…
(Truex Jr.) “It’s a place where we’ve been fast… I really love coming out there… a great area of the country, just a really fun race track, I’ve always enjoyed road courses.”
And unlike other drivers, Truex likes the chance to test himself on this kind of track…
(Truex Jr.) “It was really one of those places where, for a long there, I was just kind of snakebit. You know running up front, getting spun out, or things like that.”
NASCAR releases a statement this week backing South Carolina Governor Nikki Haley’s call to remove the Confederate flag from the State House. NASCAR saying it will continue its long-standing policy to disallow the use of the Confederate Flag symbol in any official NASCAR capacity.
Richard Petty to be honored in August during race weekend at Watkins Glen for his contributions to motor sports.
And former California Governor, Arnold Schwarzenegger will be driving the Pace car this weekend at Sonoma.
