Former NY Gov. George Pataki Announces Presidential Bid
Another hat in the ring — the latest Republican officially in the 2016 presidential race: Former New York Governor George Pataki.
FOX News Radio’s Jared Halpern reports:
Former New York Governor George Pataki is in, launching his campaign in Exeter, New Hampshire… birthplace of the Republican party.
(Pataki) “It is to preserve and protect that freedom that this morning I announce I am a candidate for the Republican nomination for President of the United States.”
Pataki becomes the eighth Republican candidate, running on a platform of tax reform and healthcare law repeal, while noting his leadership of New York after the 9/11 attacks.
Still, Pataki has barely registered in many polls up to this point, but is embracing his underdog label.
