President Obama will make an Earth Day visit to the Florida Everglades today , announcing the start of more initiatives the White House says are aimed at curbing climate change and protecting the nation's fragile ecosystems.

FOX News Radio's Eben Brown reports from Miami.

The President has often drawn criticism from political opponents with his staunch defense of claims of global climate change, something he says the world needs to address.

(President Obama) "There's new hope that with American leadership, this year, the world will finally reach an agreement to prevent the worst impacts of climate change before it's too late."

A report from the Obama administration claims the Florida Everglades are at high risk from being overtaken by rising sea levels caused by rising temperatures.
