Bird Flu Outbreak Hits Iowa
An outbreak of bird flu confirmed at an Iowa farm — and roughly five million hens must be destroyed.
FOX News Radio’s Jeff Monosso reports.
More than five million chickens are set to be destroyed after the USDA confirms the bird flu on a farm in north west Iowa.
The state is home to almost 60-million hens, which produce nearly one in five eggs consumed in the U.S.

9,000 turkeys also quarantined at another Iowa farm and thousands more birds are being destroyed in Minnesota.
Officials think the bird flu is being carried by migrating water-fowl that are stopping on their paths north-bound.
