Migrant Ship Capsizes In Mediterranean Sea [VIDEO]

Survivors from a migrant ship that capsized after leaving Libya are en route to Sicily.

FOX News Radio’s Simon Owen reports from Catania, Italy: 

At the main port here, there are passenger ferries and cargo ships coming and going. Fishermen mending their nets in the sun.

But, it’s also one of the ports where people attempting to flee North Africa for Europe are brought, if their dilapidated boats get into trouble — as happened at the weekend.

And, these big disasters in the Mediterranean are happening more and more frequently.

Rescue efforts were cut back in an effort to deter people, but people haven’t been deterred. European Union foreign ministers are discussing the situation today .
