The search may be expanded for the Malaysia Airlines plane that vanished last year.

FOX News Radio's Simon Owen has an update:

Search teams are still scouring a 23,000 sq. mile area of the Indian Ocean. But with no trace of the plane yet -- officials making plans for what comes next:

(Truss) "In the event that we cannot find the aircraft, the commitment has then been made to extend the search over a further 60,000 sq km."

The Australian Transport Minister Warren Truss confirming the search zone will be doubled -- extending the search operation potentially until the end of the year at a cost of some $39 million.
