Marco Rubio, Florida's Republican junior U.S. Senator is now officially a candidate for the presidency.  He announced his intentions in his hometown Monday, with a crowd cheering him on.

FOX News Radio's Eben Brown reports from Miami.

Florida's Marco Rubio had no lack of support when telling the nation he's running for president. Tom Olsen even came down form Minot, North Dakota...

(Olsen) "Its a once in a lifetime opportunity. I think it's history in the making."

Rubio took the opportunity to mention his immigrant family and his relative youth, compared to others seeking the office.

(Rubio) "They're busy looking backwards. So, they do not see how jobs and prosperity today depend on our ability to compete in a global economy. And, so our leaders put as at a disadvantage, by taxing and borrowing and regulating like it was 1999."
