World’s Oldest Person Dies, Shortly After Earning Title
The world’s new oldest person has died.
FOX News Radio’s Lisa Brady reports.
Officials in Camden, Arkansas confirming that Gertrude Weaver died Monday, only days after becoming the world’s oldest person.
Weaver was 116, verified as the oldest documented person just last week, after the death of a 117-year-old woman in Japan.
Weaver telling reporters at the time, her key to longevity was being kind and eating her own cooking.
She’d been hoping that President Obama would come to her 117th birthday party, in July.
The next oldest person on the gerontology research group list is 115-years-old: Jeralean Talley, who lives in Michigan. Her birthday is next month.
