Gary Ross Dahl, Creator Of The Pet Rock Dies

The creator of the pet rock has died.

FOX News Radio’s Tonya J. Powers has more.

Gary Ross Dahl was best known for his creation, the popular 1970’s fad… the Pet Rock.

Dahl died on March 23rd in Southern Oregon.

He was an ad executive in California when he came up with the idea in 1975, and estimated he’d sold a million and a half of the Pet Rocks at four dollars apiece by the time the fad fizzled out.

Dahl’s wife says he died of chronic obstructive pulmonary disease.

Gary Ross Dahl was 78.
