A late night TV staple gets a new host.

FOX News Radio’s Paul Stevens reports:

South African comedian and talk show host Trevor Noah named the new host of “The Daily Show” on Comedy Central.

Noah joining the show last December as a contributor after being recruited by current host Jon Stewart:

(‘The Daily Show’) “I’ve got to be honest Jon, Africa’s worried about you guys. You know what African children tell their children every day? ‘Be grateful for what you have — because there are fat people starving in Mississippi’.”

Stewart already announcing that he’s leaving “The Daily Show” by year’s end.

Trevor Noah’s resume featuring a showtime stand-up special last year and appearances on “The Tonight Show” and “The Late Show With David Letterman.”
