For the first time since the mid 80’s Steven Spielberg will be making a film without composer John Williams.

FOX News Radio’s Michelle Pollino explains:

If you grew up in the ’70’s and ’80’s, the music from Steven Spielberg’s films — scored by John Williams have become a part of your DNA — so, it’s ‘jaw’ dropping to know that the next Spielberg film will be missing the signature Williams’ score.

Thomas Newman will be scoring “Bridge of Spies” starring Tom Hanks. Williams had to leave because of a minor health issue, which DreamWorks said has since been corrected. Williams will still score Spielberg’s following film, “The BFG.”

In the past three decades, there has only been one Spielberg film without Williams at the musical helm, and that was “The Color Purple” done by Quincy Jones.
