Trader Joe’s Recalls Raw Walnut Products Over Possible Salmonella Contamination

A Salmonella scare has forced Trader Joe’s to recall several products containing raw walnuts.

FOX News Radio’s Gurnal Scott has the story.

The recall affects packages of California Walnuts — intended for snacking and baking — that were distributed nationwide. The best by dates on the packaging are good from October through December of this year. It was routine testing by an FDA-contracted company that discovered the potential for contamination.

Salmonella can be harmful… and even fatal to children and older adults. Sales of the walnut products have been suspended — while manufacturers try to find the source.Customers are being told to return the items, or throw them away. To date, no illnesses have been reported.
