Remembering “Bloody Sunday” [VIDEO]
Selma has been the center of the civil rights world remembering “Bloody Sunday”. Now, many who were there say it’s time to focus on battles ahead.
FOX News Radio’s Gurnal Scott has the story.
Thousands who crowded into Selma and walked the Edmund Pettus Bridge say the remembrance is poignant, and should not be forgotten.
Marty Hornung hails from Milwaukee. He says the commemoration is only a stop on the road.
(Hornung) “There is a movement out there and that movement is multiracial, it’s multi national, it’s live, it’s multi age — and we just got to stick together.”
And, what of Selma itself?
Residents hope interest in the town doesn’t pass like anniversaries do, and that people return to see where history happened, 50 years ago.
