Navy Seal Eric Greitens: The Stronger Iran Gets, The Worse It Is For America
Eric Greitens, Navy SEAL and best-selling author of Resilience: Hard-Won Wisdom for Living a Better Life, joined Brian in studio to discuss ISIS, Iran, the threat of Boko Haram and his new book.
Listen here:
Greitens said the only way to defeat and degrade ISIS would be to send in ground troops. When asked if there would be benefits to working with Iran to defeat ISIS, Greitens said it would be a mistake, adding, Iran is the greatest state sponsor of terrorism, adding, the stronger Iran gets the worse it is America.
Greitens said Boko Haram has become a bigger threat by pledging allegiance to ISIS and have become more sophisticated carrying out their acts of terror. Greitens said we need to find a way to gather a strong coalition to degrade and defeat Boko Haram.
When asked about the Obama administration pulling troops out of Iraq and the long lasting implications of that decision, Greitens explained that it was a big foreign policy mistake to pull out. He said we need to look back on our successful foreign policy after World War II when we kept a military presence in Europe, Germany and Japan because our presence helped keep the peace and stabilize those regions.
