Actor Harrison Ford is recovering after his small plane crashed in Los Angeles on Thursday.
FOX News Radio's Tonya J. Powers has more:
He made the distress call, but the 'Star Wars' star didn't make it back to the airport. His vintage airplane is the worse for wear, but he's expected to be okay.
Ford's been flying for many years, and also helps in search and rescue efforts. Christian Fry, with the Santa Monica Airport Association, says Ford's reaction was exactly what an experienced pilot would do.
(Fry) "Harry put this airplane down at the golf course, which is the perfect thing to do in a situation where you've lost power, which it appears what occurred here."
He had a cut to his forehead, some broken bones and scraped arms... and, was helped by doctors that happened to be playing golf on the course.
