The death penalty is off the table for convicted killer Jodi Arias, as a second jury deadlocks on a penalty.

FOX News Radio’s Jessica Rosenthal reports:

Even before the verdict was read, you could hear family members of the victim, Travis Alexander — crying. But, after the judge read that the jury was hung, the emotional sounds just totally overwhelmed the courtroom.

This was the second jury that hung on the punishment phase, in which they had to decide if Jodi Arias should get the death penalty for murdering Alexander.

Sentencing was set for April 13th, at which point the judge will decide if Arias gets life in prison — with or without the possibility of parole.

Arias, herself, looked unemotional for the most part during the verdict reading; but, one of her attorneys hugged her as they left.
