800,000 HealthCare.gov Customers Get Wrong Tax Information
An Obamacare oops…. A lot of people who got coverage have been sent some wrong tax information.
FOX News Radio’s Jared Halpern explains from Washington:
About 800,000 people who signed up for a plan on healthcare.gov are being asked to hold off on filing their taxes… they were sent incorrect tax information.
The Affordable Care Act delivers subsidies through the income tax system to help offset the price of premiums. But in some cases, the agency in charge of the federal exchange sent customers forms indicating either too much or too little assistance.
In most cases people impacted had not filed, though, 50,000 or so customers may need to resubmit their tax returns.
