Crime Concerns In New Orleans — Ahead Of Mardi Gras Festivities
With Mardi Gras right around the corner, crime is on the rise in New Orleans.
FOX News Radio’s Pam Puso has the story.
A shortage of police officers and a rise in violent crime — what the city of New Orleans is grappling with — with just weeks to go before Mardi Gras.
Since November, the French Quarter has seen some 60 robberies, many of them violent, leading residents in the historic area to post signs on their doors, balconies and in their windows advising people to walk in large groups.
Mayor Mitch Landrieu is promising to make the festivities safe. Mardi Gras falls on Tuesday, February 17th. The parades start on February 6th.
