America’s Wealth Gap Widens
The wealth gap in America has widened to a record level, a recent report says.
FOX News Radio’s Bill Vitka reports.
The typical rich family in America now has nearly seven times the wealth of a family in the middle-class. It is the biggest wealth gap in three decades, according to a new analysis by Pew.
Using the the latest Fed data, Pew says that the median wealth for high-income families was $639,000 last year.
For the middle-class — median wealth stood at $96,000. A number that hasn’t changed since 2010.
The disparity is even more stark — when the very rich are compared to the very poor. Upper-income families now have a median wealth level — nearly 70 times that of lower-income families.
