Senator-Elect Bill Cassidy: American People Disapprove Of President Obama’s Agenda.
Senator-elect Bill Cassidy (R-LA), joined Brian to discuss his victory over Senator Mary Landrieu in Saturday’s runoff election. Cassidy believes his victory, along with the other Election Day results, show that the American people disapprove of President Obama’s agenda. Cassidy said that the first order of business for the new Senate in January will be passing Keystone Pipeline legislation. Cassidy said, by his calculations, republicans need two more democrat Senators in order to have enough votes to override a possible veto from President Obama.
Cassidy said job creation must be a big part of Congress’s agenda come January. Cassidy told Brian that the greatest job-creating industry in America is energy and he will use his appointment to the Energy Committee to push back against President Obama’s anti-energy policies.
