In the midst of holiday shopping, there’s a push for charitable giving.

FOX News Radio’s Tonya J. Powers has more.

First, there was Black Friday. Then, Cyber Monday. Then, Small Business Saturday.

    Now, there’s Giving Tuesday.

It’s a global movement during the holidays dedicated to giving back, and was first introduced in 2012 by the United Nations Foundation and New York City’s 92nd Street Y.

It also encourages younger generations to get involved in giving, by getting their attention on social media — with the #GivingTuesday.

The idea is to help wherever it’s needed — not just by donating to a charity, but by thinking of others in a larger way — whether it’s through monetary help or running errands for an elderly person in need.
