Getting Ready for Thanksgiving: Parade Preview and Shopping Prep
Turkey day is almost here. But, before we carve the bird, there’s a parade to watch and shopping to plan.
FOX News Radio’s Tonya J. Powers takes a look at what we’ll see in this year’s Macy’s Thanksgiving Day parade and which stores will open early for Black Friday shopping.
There may be more shoppers on Black Friday, but new sales data says shoppers will actually get better deals in stores that are open on Thanksgiving. And, it’s not just in stores either — web discounts will be deeper on the holiday, as well.
According to Adobe, which tracks data on 45-hundred retail web sites, they’ll be about 24 percent cheaper compared with 23 percent on Black Friday, and 20 percent on Cyber Monday. So who’s open early?
Some Toys R Us stores open at 5 p.m. Thanksgiving Day, Target opens at 6 p.m., and Old Navy shoppers can hit the doors Thanksgiving afternoon at four!
And, many of us will plan our shopping strategy Thanksgiving morning, while watching the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade.
Stars like Idina Menzel, Nick Jonas and Meghan Trainor are set to perform. Along with more than 900 clowns, joining the cheerleaders, marching bands, and all those iconic balloons — Snoopy, Spiderman, Spongebob, Pokemon and Elf on a Shelf.
