Keystone XL Pipeline Bill Falls Short Of Senate Approval [VIDEO]
An effort to force President Obama into a decision on the Keystone oil pipeline fails.
FOX News Radio’s Jared Halpern has more from Capitol Hill.
The debate pitted Democrat against Democrat. Louisiana’s Mary Landrieu leading the way on a bill authorizing construction of the Keystone XL pipeline.
(Landrieu) ”I’m gonna continue to shake this place up, when I can.”
She and other Keystone sponsors fell one vote shy of the 60 needed.
(Boxer) “This is dangerous, dangerous stuff, because it has heavy metals.”
California Democrat Barbara Boxer leading the opposition.
President Obama had hinted he would have vetoed the measure, and he still may. Republican leaders intend to revive Keystone when they take control of the Senate next year.
